The Right Amount of Perfect / The Right Amount of Real

About

It's nice to meet you - I appreciate you stopping by! I photograph subjects in a documentary style, making the most out of every environment.  I believe in empowering my subjects to put their best, most authentic self forward, and in evoking a person's spirit to reveal their most beautiful self. My interests, inspiration and body of work have drawn from street photography, America's music/nightlife scenes, professional wrestling, and fashion. After taking classes at University of the Arts in 2017, I've worked on large-scale collage and mixed media projects. In 2015 and 2016, I published three issues of a photography magazine, You & I Forever, working with Philadelphia DJ's and a talented video producer to create music mixes and visual stories inspired by each magazine issue. My artistic interests and subject matter cover a wide range, due to my love of meeting new and unique people that trust me to bring out their beauty and grit.

I grew up in Ohio and have strong family ties to the Philippines. I currently reside in the Cleveland area after being a longtime Philadelphia resident. My years living in East Coast cities and the Midwest, and spending summers with family in the Bay Area have greatly influenced my perspective, spirit and my art.  I have a B.A. in Communications/Media Studies with a minor in Visual Arts from Fordham University, and an M.A. in Media Studies from The New School. I was a grant recipient of the Leeway Foundation's Art & Change program in 2010, 2012 and 2013, where through these awards I focused on documenting the stories and lives of immigrant communities. I have a 20 year career in non-profit management and currently offer consultant services for individuals, companies and organizations. My family also proudly owns a small online accessories & engraving/custom design store. Finally, I’m a parent to a free-spirited, enthusiastic trendsetter.
